Moreno Valley, Riverside County
Moreno Valley became a city in 1984, when voters joined the communities of Sunnymead, Edgemont and Moreno under one name. Subdivisions spread quickly across the valley floor in the years that followed, and it is now the second-largest city in Riverside County. Box Springs Mountain rises along the northwest edge, with a large letter M on its slope.
